About Parbold Hill
Parbold Hill is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care and education to young horses in a calm and nurturing environment where they can reach their full potential. Every horse is treated as an individual and allowed the time they need to learn and develop.
Natalie McGovern, the founder and owner of Parbold Hill, has many years experience of breaking and producing horses for successful careers across various disciplines in the UK and overseas, including Eventing, Racing, Dressage and Showing, references are available upon request. Natalie's career started out in Eventing where she worked with horses ranging from youngsters in for breaking up to horses competing at 5* level. It was at this point Natalie developed a passion for thoroughbreds after retraining multiple ex-racehorses for a career in Eventing.
Natalie's career progressed to working in senior positions at racing yards across the country. Returning to her roots in Lancashire, Natalie became the Assistant Manager at 3x Grand National Winning owner Trevor Hemming's Breaking, Pre-Training and Rehabilitation yard working with some of the best National Hunt horses in the country.
In 2023, while living in New Zealand, Natalie added another feather to her cap working with mares and foals with Foal NZ at some of the largest and most prestigious stud farms in the Southern Hemisphere. It was during her time in New Zealand that Natalie founded Parbold Hill, a breaking in facility which provided the highest standard of care and education for young Thoroughbreds at the start of the racing careers.
Natalie fulfilled a lifelong ambition to set up her own business and is delighted to have now found a fabulous base for Parbold Hill back in the UK, a private yard on the outskirts of Preston, Lancashire. Our focus is prioritising smaller numbers which enables us to offer a boutique service with a more personal approach.
Our mission is to provide the highest standard of young horse education ensuring every young horse leaving our stable is a confident, relaxed and well rounded individual, prepared for the next chapter in their lives.
